HHS has appointed Harvey Risch, MD, PhD, as chairman of the President’s Cancer Panel.
Dr. Risch is professor emeritus and senior research scientist in epidemiology at New Haven, Conn.-based Yale School of Public Health and Yale School of Medicine, according to a Dec. 16 news release from HHS. His role involves monitoring the National Cancer Program activities and reporting to the president on such efforts.
The President’s Cancer Panel was established in 1971 as part of the NIH’s National Cancer Institute.
