The Surgical Review Corporation has named Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag the world’s first center of excellence in oncoplastic breast surgery.
In a Feb. 11 news release, Nirav Savalia, MD, medical director of oncoplastic and aesthetic breast surgery at Hoag, said the designation “has the potential to inspire other institutions to expand access to this important option for women.”
Hoag became the first health system to launch an oncoplastic breast surgery fellowship in 2024. The fellowship program is led by Dr. Savalia and Sadia Khan, DO, director of integrative breast oncology for the Hoag Breast Program.
