Oklahoma City-based Oklahoma Children’s Hospital has become the first facility in Oklahoma to offer a targeted chemotherapy treatment for retinoblastoma, according to a March 9 report KOCO News.
The treatment delivers chemotherapy directly to the patient’s eye via catheter, bypassing the need to administer the drug to the entire body.”
The 20-month-old patient has undergone the procedure four times and physicians said the treatment is working, according to the report.
