Houston Methodist taps cell, gene therapy leader

Houston Methodist has tapped Malcolm Brenner, MD, PhD, as the inaugural leader of the Houston Methodist Center for Cell and Gene Therapy. 

The new center will bring together Houston Methodist researchers, scientists, clinicians and support staff, according to a June 12 news release from the health system.

Dr. Brenner is a professor of pediatrics, medicine, molecular and human genetics, and translational biology at Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine. He will continue to collaborate with Baylor and Houston-based Texas Children’s Hospital, the release said.
