Researchers at Aurora-based University of Colorado Anschutz Cancer Center have secured a three-year Defense Department grant totaling nearly $1.75 million to develop a therapy for treatment-resistant thyroid cancers.
The DOD Impact Award went to Rebecca Schweppe, PhD, Bryan Haugen, MD, and Jennifer Richer, PhD, who received a Defense Department award last year for the same line of research.
“The team’s goal is to move this work from the bench to the bedside,” the release said. “[Dr.] Haugen says he foresees a CU Anschutz-led clinical trial a few years down the line. And the DOD Impact Award will make this crucial next phase of the work possible.”
