Buffalo, N.Y.-based Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has unveiled an updated, more compact mobile lung cancer screening unit.
The new unit — called the EDDY Mobile Lung Cancer Screening Center — replaces a mobile screening vehicle that had been in service since 2022, according to a Sept. 14 news release from Roswell Park.
Roswell Park’s mobile lung cancer screening program has completed more than 3,400 early detection encounters across seven counties in western New York.
The mobile unit was manufactured by USA Mobile Medical and houses Philips’ low-dose CT imaging equipment, the release said.
