Kansas City-based University of Kansas Health System and Cancer Center, and Colby, Kan.-based Citizens Health have launched a cancer care partnership.
Two physicians from the University of Kansas Cancer Center who specialize in melanoma and genitourinary cancers have joined the medical staff of Citizens Medical Center, according to an Aug. 12 news release from the cancer center.
Physicians specializing in other cancers will join Citizens Medical Center in the coming months.
Citizens Health and the University of Kansas Cancer Center collaborated on infrastructure advancements, the release said, including facility expansions, EHR improvements and the hiring of an advanced practice provider and nurse navigators to help coordinate care.
