The University of Chicago Medicine has partnered with the American Cancer Society to provide free lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers.
Hope Lodge Chicago will be built near the health system’s AbbVie Foundation Cancer Pavilion, which is expected to open in April 2027, according to an Aug. 26 news release from UChicago Medicine.
The facility will also offer a Cancer Wellness Hub, providing services such as physical activity, nutrition, social connection and stress management for cancer patients, their caregivers and members of the South Side community, the release said.
Hope Lodge Chicago will be the American Cancer Society’s 32nd Hope Lodge.
