IRCAD North America, a surgical training and research center owned by Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health, has partnered with the Society of Surgical Oncology to expand hands-on training for cancer surgeons.
The society will hold surgical oncology training courses and evaluate medical devices at IRCAD North America’s center in Charlotte, according to an Oct. 15 news release.
Training courses are expected to launch in 2027, with a course on robotic nipple-sparing mastectomy among the first in development. Course dates, faculty and registration details will be released at a later date, the release said.
At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
