Seattle-based Fred Hutch Cancer Center has named Ajay Gopal, MD, the 2026-28 recipient of its Oliver Press Award for Extraordinary Mentorship.
Dr. Gopal is director of clinical research for lymphoma at Fred Hutch and holds the Stephen H. Petersdorf Endowed Chair in Cancer Care, according to an Oct. 26 news release from the cancer center.
He also recently became medical director for clinical research support at the Fred Hutch/University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Cancer Consortium.
The award is named for the late Oliver Press, MD, PhD, a physician-scientist who held research leadership roles at Fred Hutch and Seattle-based University of Washington.
