UT Health San Antonio has tapped Georg Aue, MD, PhD, as director of the Mays Cancer Center’s Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program.
Dr. Aue will also serve as chief of the section of cellular therapies, co-director of the Cellular Therapy Research Center and inaugural director of the Mary and Bill Henrich Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Unit at UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital, according to an Aug. 24 news release from the health system.
He joins UT Health San Antonio from the National Institutes of Health, where he previously served as director of blood and marrow transplantation and deputy clinical director for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
Dr. Aue also holds the Daisy M. Skinner Endowed Chair in Cancer Immunology at UT Health San Antonio’s Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine.
