Baptist Health appoints leukemia chief

Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute has appointed Firas El Chaer, MD, as chief of leukemia. 

He will also serve as medical director of infusion services, according to a March 18 news release from the health system. 

Before joining Baptist Health, Dr. El Chaer was the medical director of infusion centers for the cancer service line and medical director of the chronic and acute leukemia research team at Charlottesville-based University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center.
