Cancer center opens in Southern Colorado

Pueblo, Colo.-based Parkview Health System opened its cancer center and will accept its first patients Oct. 10, CBS affiliate KKTV reported Oct. 4.

Parkview Health System partnered with Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers to create the three-story center. The center will be staffed by 51 oncologists of all disciplines and provide inpatient care.

The center also features a linear accelerator, a machine that can provide precise radiation care, which isn’t available anywhere else in Southern Colorado.
