Baton Rouge, La.-based Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute — part of FMOL Health — has become the first in Louisiana to administer CAR-T therapy in an outpatient setting.
The cancer center began offering inpatient CAR-T therapy in May as part of a clinical trial, according to a Feb. 24 news release shared with Becker’s.
Expanding CAR-T therapy services to the outpatient setting required coordination among the emergency department, ICU and cell therapy unit, as well as integration of specialized oncology nurses and advanced practice providers.
