Hackensack Meridian Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center is partnering with Teen Cancer America to expand the hospital’s adolescent and young adult program.
The program treats patients ages 15-39 who have received a cancer diagnosis, and provides survival care to close gaps present in this age group, according to an April 15 system news release.
A donation from Teen Cancer America and First Citizens Bank, totaling $379,819, will help the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital and the John Theurer Cancer Center — both located in Hackensack University Medical Center — to hire a program coordinator and social worker for the program.
At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
