Houston Methodist has tapped Daniela Matei, MD, as director of the Dr. Mary and Ron Neal Cancer Center.
Dr. Matei will step into the role in April, according to a Feb. 27 news release from Houston Methodist.
She currently serves as chief of the division of reproductive science in medicine in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Chicago-based Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and leads the Translational Research in Malignancies Program at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, also in Chicago.
Dr. Matei’s recruitment was supported by a $4 million award from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.
