Maryland cancer center gets $5.5M gift

Baltimore-based University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center received a $5.5 million donation to advance scientific research and cancer care.

This gift comes from the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Family Foundation, according to an April 13 system news release. It will be used to foster research at the university’s medical school, advance innovative treatments and strengthen support for cancer survivors through wearable technology, specialized care to improve quality of life and tailored nutritional support.

The new building lobby will also be named in the Greenebaums’ honor.
