Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham has received $50 million from anonymous donors to fuel cancer research efforts.

The donors said the gift was made “with deep gratitude for the compassionate and expert care provided by staff across Mass General Brigham,” according to a March 12 news release from the health system.

Mass General Brigham will use the funds to support the physical and workforce infrastructure required for gene and cell therapy research, including facilities for apheresis and a cell pharmacy, the release said.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
