Buffalo, N.Y.-based Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center broke ground Sept. 9 on its expanded Broadview Community Outreach and Engagement Center, which opened in 2023.
The center works to address cancer disparities and improve outcomes by providing cancer prevention and screening programs, patient navigation services and community-engaged research. Roswell Park said the expansion will expand the reach of these initiatives, especially among historically underserved populations.
The 5,900-square-foot structure will have approximately an additional 4,600 square feet after the expansion is completed. The new wing will include a classroom, two community co-working rooms and more public gathering space, according to Roswell Park.
In June, the center was formally designated as the Roswell Park Broadview Community Outreach and Engagement Center after receiving a $1 million gift from Broadview Federal Credit Union.
