Top cancer center alliance names chief medical officer

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network has named Renuka Iyer, MD, as chief medical officer. 

Dr. Iyer currently serves as section chief of gastrointestinal oncology and vice chair of faculty affairs at Buffalo, N.Y.-based Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, according to a Dec. 4 news release from the alliance. She is also the medical director for medical oncology across the Roswell Park Care Network.

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network is an alliance of 33 cancer centers across the U.S. that publishes free, “evidence-based, expert consensus-driven guidelines for cancer prevention and care,” according to the organization’s website.
