The University of Toledo in Ohio has launched a cancer research institute to support interdisciplinary collaboration among more than 60 clinicians and researchers at the university.
The Northwest Ohio Cancer Research Institute will also partner with Toledo-based ProMedica and the Toledo Clinic, according to a Dec. 17 news release from the university.
Institute members will collaborate across three working groups specializing in breast, pancreatic and prostate cancer. The institute will establish a biorepository to collect and catalog biological samples and associated clinical data, and work toward developing anti-cancer drugs and treatments.
