UAB O’Neal Cancer Center to expand clinical trials program with gift

The University of Alabama at Birmingham O’Neal Cancer Center will expand and name its clinical trials program after receiving a $5 million gift. 

The Estes Family Clinical Trials Program at the UAB O’Neal Cancer Center is named in honor of donor Norman Estes, according to an Aug. 5 news release from the university. 

The gift will be used to expand the cancer center’s clinical trial offerings in Alabama and the Southeast as well as to renovate the clinical trials office, the release said.
