Cleveland-based University Hospitals has received $12.5 million from Dee and Jimmy Haslam to fuel research of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and rare blood cancers.
The gift will be used to advance new therapeutics into clinical trials through the Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre, a partnership between the University of Oxford and the Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals, according to a May 6 news release from the health system.
University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center will also establish an endowed chair in chronic lymphocytic leukemia research and an innovation fund with the gift.
