Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute has joined the Hoosier Cancer Research Network, a consortium of more than 100 U.S. community oncology programs and academic centers.
The Hoosier Cancer Research Network was established in 1984 and has enrolled more than 10,000 patients in over 250 clinical trials, according to a Sept. 7 news release from OSF HealthCare.
“They have an ongoing portfolio of clinical trials that we can decide whether it makes sense for us to open here in Peoria or in some of our other OSF markets as well,” Robert McWilliams, MD, deputy director with OSF Cancer Institute, said in the news release. “We can have our trials open through that network and accelerate the speed and rapidity of the research that is done.”
