New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Cancer Institute has named Tobias Janowitz, MD, PhD, director of translational cancer research and the Robert and Janet Perro Professor in Cancer Research.
Dr. Janowitz was also appointed director of the Institute of Cancer Research at Northwell’s Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, according to an Aug. 27 news release from the health system.
He will continue to lead his research program at Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.) Laboratory Cancer Center.
As director, Dr. Janowitz succeeds Jeff Boyd, PhD, who will continue to serve as professor in the Institute of Cancer Research; vice president, chief scientific officer and director of the Center for Genomic Medicine at Northwell Cancer Institute; and the Carol and Arnold Wolowitz Professor in Cancer Research.
