Duke Cancer Institute names executive director

Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health has named David Tuveson, MD, PhD, executive director of the Duke Cancer Institute.

Dr. Tuveson is currently cancer center director and the Roy J. Zuckerberg Professor of Cancer Research at Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.) Laboratory, according to a Sept. 8 news release from Duke Health.

He is also chief scientist for the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. 

Dr. Tuveson will join Duke Health Oct. 31, the release said.
