St. Louis-based WashU Medicine investigators received an $11.7 million NIH grant to study the role of inflammation in myeloproliferative neoplasms, a group of blood cancers.
The grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute will support four major research projects and three new core resources, according to a Sept. 29 news release.
The four projects will examine different inflammatory pathways involved in myeloproliferative neoplasms and how inflammation may contribute to disease progression. The research will investigate DUSP6 and RSK1, stem cell clones, the bone marrow environment and TNF-alpha.
