Portland-based MaineHealth has opened an expanded Infusion Center and Oncology & Blood Disorder Practice at MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital in Damariscotta, Maine.

The addition of four infusion chairs is expected to increase treatment capacity by 40%, according to an Aug. 31 news release from MaineHealth.

The project was partially funded by a $4.5 million congressional spending award.

The facility offers infusion care alongside oncology and hematology appointments, “strengthening” care coordination between oncology providers and infusion care teams, the release said.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
