Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center has opened a research facility at its Speros life sciences campus in Pasco County, Fla.

The Moffitt Discovery and Innovation Center will focus on developing cell therapies and radiopharmaceuticals, according to an Oct. 22 news release from the cancer center.

The building includes radiochemistry lab space for Moffitt’s radiopharmaceutical program, which launched in August. It is expected to house 20 faculty labs and about 250 faculty, researchers, postdoctoral fellows and staff members by the end of the year, the release said.

Space on the third floor is reserved for an incubator for early-stage biotech companies, which is expected to open in early 2028.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
