Johnson City, Tenn.-based Niswonger Children’s Hospital has reopened the St. Jude Tri-Cities Affiliate Clinic after completing a $550,000 renovation.

The renovation was fully funded by philanthropic support, according to an Oct. 19 news release from Johnson City.-based Ballad Health, of which Niswonger Children’s Hospital is a part.

The redesigned clinic features a safari theme with a waterfall fixture, a self-service drink and snack station, a counseling room, a music therapy room and two extra-large exam rooms.

The Niswonger Children’s Hospital clinic began providing pediatric cancer care as an affiliate of Memphis, Tenn.-based St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 1999, the release said.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
