Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center will open a new facility, called Moffitt First Connect, in Ocala, Fla. on Sept. 14.
The office will serve as a “local point of access to Moffitt’s expertise, focusing on initial assessments, care navigation and referrals,” according to a Sept. 3 news release from Moffitt.
Advanced practice providers at Moffitt First Connect will review medical records, conduct initial assessments and coordinate diagnostic procedures and referrals. The team will also evaluate patients’ potential clinical trial eligibility.
“Moffitt First Connect is essential to providing community-based rapid access to Moffitt expertise,” Nainesh Parikh, MD, Moffitt chief clinical expansion and partnerships officer, said in the release.
