NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn names 1st thoracic surgery chief

New York City-based NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn has tapped Jennifer Nishimura, MD, to serve as the hospital’s first chief of thoracic surgery.

She will also serve as a clinical assistant professor in the department of cardiothoracic surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, according to a Dec. 9 news release from the health system.

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn expanded cardiac services in December 2024 to include complex percutaneous coronary interventions, cardiac electrophysiology procedures and other advanced heart procedures. The hospital appointed Noritsugu Naito, MD, PhD, to serve as its first chief of cardiac surgery in April.
