Miami-based Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has broken ground on a new cancer facility, the Helen & Jacob Shaham Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute.
The cancer center is expected to open in 2028, according to a Sept. 16 news release from Nicklaus Children’s.
The first floor of the 25,500-square-foot facility will feature 20 infusion bays and 10 exam rooms, while the second floor will have an inflammatory bowel disease suite with six infusion bays, the release said.
The center is named in honor of Helen and Jacob Shaham, who donated $15 million to Nicklaus Children’s in 2024.
