From inaugural chiefs to service line vice presidents, here are 65 recent oncology moves from U.S. hospitals and cancer centers:

  1. Jennifer Nishimura, MD, will join New York City-based NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn as the hospital’s first chief of thoracic surgery.

  2. Renuka Iyer, MD, joined the National Comprehensive Cancer Network as chief medical officer.

  3. Gregory Kennedy, MD, PhD, and MarCia Ekworomadu will join West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health as chief medical officer for oncology and vice president of operations for oncology services, respectively.

  4. Christine Lovly, MD, PhD, joined Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope as division chief of thoracic medical oncology.

  5. Paige Aiello, MD, joined Detroit-based Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute as a breast surgeon.

  6. Louis Chai, MD, joined Philadelphia-based Fox Chase Cancer Center as an assistant professor in the division of thoracic surgery.

  7. André Kydd, MD, PhD, joined Philadelphia-based Fox Chase Cancer Center as an assistant professor in the department of hematology/oncology.

  8. Delia Guaqueta, MD, joined Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute as a hematologist oncologist.

  9. Amy Edwards, MSN, joined Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare as vice president of oncology.

  10. Douglas Harrison, MD, joined Wilmington, Del.-based Nemours Children’s as division chief of hematology, oncology, transplant and cellular therapy.

  11. Bradley Rockwell, MD, joined Detroit-based Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute as a transplant hematologist.

  12. Chandrajit Raut, MD, joined Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute as chief of the division of surgical oncology.

  13. Kay Yoon-Flannery, DO, joined Atlantic City, N.J.-based AtlantiCare as chief of women’s oncology at the AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute in Egg Harbor Township, N.J.

  14. Motaz Qadan, MD, PhD, joined Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute as surgeon-in-chief.

  15. John Byrd, MD, was appointed director of Pittsburgh-based UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. 

  16. Eight physicians joined Buffalo, N.Y.-based Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as faculty members. They are Shilpa Chowdhry, MD; Claudiu Cotta, MD, PhD; Mark Frattini, MD, PhD; Cerrene Giordano, MD; Oday Karadsheh, MD; Weining Ma, MD; Ankit Patel, MD; and Majed Refaai, MD. 

  17. Richmond, Va.-based VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center tapped Kim Rhoads, MD, to serve as associate director of community outreach and engagement and as a professor of colorectal surgery at the VCU School of Medicine.

  18. Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine tapped Maie St. John, MD, PhD, to serve as director of the department of otolaryngology–head and neck surgery.

  19. Safford, Ariz.-based Mount Graham Regional Medical Center tapped Stephen Iacoboni, MD, to lead its cancer center.

  20. New York City-based NYU Langone tapped John Leonard, MD, to serve as director of the Center for Blood Cancers and chief of the division of hematology and medical oncology at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

  21. Boston-based Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute tapped Joi Torrence-Hill as chief administrator.

  22. Atlanta-based Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University tapped Neil Iyengar, MD, to serve as director of survivorship services.

  23. Burlington, Mass.-based Tufts Medicine tapped Don Dizon, MD, as system chief of hematology-oncology for the cancer service line for Tufts Medicine.

  24. Filip Ionescu, MD, joined Charleston, W.Va.-based Vandalia Health’s Mon Health Cancer Center.

  25. Orange, Calif.-based UCI Health tapped Gary Deng, MD, PhD, to serve as director of the Integrative Oncology program at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.

  26. Valentin Kolev, MD, joined Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health’s Smilow Cancer Hospital as an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences. He will also serve as director of the gynecologic oncology fellowship program.

  27. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health appointed Samir Taneja, MD, as system chair of urology and chair of the Smith Institute for Urology.

  28. John Ruckdeschel, MD, joined Philadelphia-based Fox Chase Cancer Center as a professor in the department of hematology/oncology.

  29. Mountain View, Calif.-based El Camino Health tapped four oncologists to join its cancer care team: breast surgical oncologist Tran Ho, DO, and medical oncologists Priya Jayachandran, MD, Iulia Giuroiu, MD, and Arun Raajasekar, MD.

  30. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health Cancer Institute named Sang Sim, MD, as vice chair of brachytherapy with the department of radiation medicine.

  31. The FDA appointed hematologist-oncologist Vinay Prasad, MD, to lead the agency’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research.

  32. Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital appointed Vaagn Andikyan, MD as director of the Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy program at the TGH Cancer Institute.

  33. Coral Gables, Fla.-Baptist Health filled two leadership roles at the Baptist Health Miami (Fla.) Cancer Institute.

    Michael Zinner, MD, CEO and executive medical director of Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute and Baptist Health Cancer Care, was named the Endowed Chair in Cancer Care, and Sarbajit Mukherjee, MD, was named the institute’s chief of gastrointestinal medical oncology.

  34. Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag appointed Steven Grossman, MD, PhD, as executive medical director for the Hoag Family Cancer Institute.

  35. Columbus-based Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute appointed former National Cancer Institute Director W. Kimryn Rathmell, MD, PhD, as CEO.

  36. Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope appointed Hope Rugo, MD, as division chief of breast medical oncology.

  37. Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine appointed Mohamed Abazeed, MD, PhD, as chair of the department of radiation oncology.

  38. Englewood (N.J.) Health appointed Jennifer Marti, MD, as its new chief of breast surgery.

  39. Columbus-based OhioHealth appointed George Simon, MD, as vice president of the system’s oncology services.

  40. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare appointed Greg Bodager, MSN, as associate regional vice president of oncology for the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network’s TriStar Division.

  41. Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham named David Ryan, MD, as the inaugural president of the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute.

  42. Jennifer Woyach, MD, was named director of the division of hematology at Columbus-based Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

  43. Mitchell Posner, MD, was named chief clinical officer of the UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center. He will also serve as CCO for the health system’s cancer service line.

  44. Qing Chen, MD, PhD, joined Philadelphia-based Fox Chase Cancer Center as assistant professor in the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment Research Program.

  45. José Larios, MD, joined the bone marrow and stem cell transplant, and hematology oncology multidisciplinary teams at Detroit-based Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

  46. Mara Bloom was named vice president of oncology services for Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System.

  47. Amy Chen, MD, was named chief of surgery and director of thyroid oncology, and Joannie Ivory, MD, joined the Breast Cancer Center team at Newnan, Ga.-based City of Hope-Atlanta.

  48. Lucio Miele, MD, PhD, was named director of New Orleans-based LSU-LCMC Health Cancer Center.

  49. Kristen Strasser, MD, joined Sedalia, Mo.-based Bothwell Regional Health Center’s Susan O’Brien Fischer Cancer Center.

  50. Paul Thambi, MD, joined Cleveland Clinic Weston (Fla.) Hospital.

  51. Hani Al Halabi, MD, joined Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Proton Therapy Center, part of the Karmanos Cancer Institute.

  52. Teresa Easwaran, MD, joined the Essentia Health-Duluth (Minn.) Clinic.

  53. William Oh, MD, was named service medical director at Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health’s Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich Hospital, and director of precision medicine at Smilow Cancer Hospital and New Haven-based Yale Cancer Center.
